For the past 15 years I've lived with my husband only a few blocks from the old Robbinsdale High School! After working as a public health nurse and school nurse for the Anoka Hennepin District #11 until 1978, I went to Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) and served with a mission and African church. I met my husband in Africa--who was a single missionary surgeon--and we got married in 1983. We were evacuated in 1996 due to a civil war. We have two children, one is serving overseas and one is a pediatric physical therapist in Mpls.We lived and worked in Africa for many years). I am currently a faith community nurse in my church in the area, and my husband is a safety-net doctor for homeless Native Americans in Mpls. We both serve with a faith-based Native American organization in Mn and South Dakota.
